Tremont Street Residence

The Tremont Street Residences are located in Boston’s historic South End neighborhood, known for its characteristic brick rowhouses. This townhouse that once held four simplex units with inefficient layouts has been reconfigured into three condominiums consisting of two duplexes and a garden-level simplex. The building’s historic character is offset by the insertions of new, minimal elements that tie the duplex levels to one another. Living spaces for the duplexes are located on the parlor and penthouse levels to maximize openness and views, and their layouts allow them double exposure to light. New decks for the two duplexes look out on the Back Bay skyline.
